Expected users of the AED should receive AED/CPR training.
Any person or entity who acquires an automated external defibrillator shall notify an agent of the emergency communications or vehicle dispatch center of the existence, location, and type of automated external defibrillator.
The defibrillator must be maintained and tested according to the manufacturer's operational guidelines.
Any person who renders emergency care or treatment on a person in sudden cardiac arrest by using an automated external defibrillator must activate the emergency medical services system as soon as possible and report any clinical use of the automated external defibrillator to the licensed physician or other person authorized by the composite board who is supervising the program.

Beginning in the 2013-2014 school year, each local board of education which operates a school with grades 9 through 12 shall provide instruction in CPR and the use of an AED to its students as a requirement within existing health or physical education courses.
